Saadani national park is where the beach meets the bush. The only wildlife sanctuary in East Africa to boast for an Indian Ocean beachfront, it sounds too far-fetched to be true an epic safari adventure filled with scenic Savannah, verdant bush lands married with calm beaches absent from tourists. This description may sound like the stuff of dreams, but here in Tanzania’s Saadani National Park, it is the reality. Yet it is also the one place where those idle
hours of sunbathing might be interrupted by an elephant strolling past, or a lion coming to drink at the nearby waterhole!
WHAT TO EXPECT IN SAADANI NATIONAL PARK DAY TRIP
After breakfast at your hotel/ agreed pick up point, our professional safari driver guide will pick you up and drive north to Saadani via Bagamoyo. The park is located approximately 3-4 hours away. We’ll arrive at Saadani National Park for a game drive. Resident animals include giraffe, buffalo, elephant, lion,
leopard, sable antelope, eland, hartebeest, wildebeest, zebra, water buck and reed buck. Other animals that you are likely to see include greater kudu, warthog, hyena, mongoose, civet, serval, caracal, baboon, black and white Colobus, crocodile, hippo, three species of dicker as well as a great variety of bird life. We will enjoy a picnic lunch on the beach with its white sands and sparkling clear water. After lunch, proceed for the afternoon game drive or choose to take a boat tour in the Wami River, these costs $25pp. Its waters and swampland are home to a large population of hippos, crocodiles and water birds. Later on, we’ll depart the park to Dar es Salaam.
