Close to Arusha, 118 km away, Tarangire National Park gets its name from the river that threads its way through the length of the reserve. It is famous for its dense wildlife population which is most spectacular between June and September, the dry period.
During this time thousands of animals – elephant, buffalo, giraffe, eland, hartebeest, kudu, wildebeest and the rarely seen oryx and gerenuk – migrate from the dry Masai steppe to the Tarangire River looking for water. Lion, leopard and other predators follow the herds. Tarangire has the largest population of elephant of any park in the northern circuit and is also home to 550 varieties of bird.
TARANGIRE AND MANYARA – 4 DAYS
Day 1 – Flying to Arusha Airport from Dar es salaam and proceed with Tarangire full day Safari game drive.
Take a flight from Dar es salaam to the safari capital of Tanzania or Geneva of Africa Arusha Town. Flight will depart from Dar es Salaam at 0700 am and arrive at Arusha airport at 0900am morning. Outside arrivals exit you will meet our representative for 10 minutes Safari briefing.
After breakfast, your guide will drive you to Tarangire National Park. It will take 3hours to arrive to entrance gate. Tarangire is famous for its large population of elephants, many species of birds, baobab trees and many other animals. It is also known for having tree climbing pythons. Late evening drive to your booked lodge for dinner& Overnight stay.
Day 2 – Sunrise game drive at Tarangire and later drive to Manyara
After breakfast, we will depart with picnics and drive to Tarangire park for a majestic sunrise Safari game drive. You will have the opportunity to see scenery of Tarangire with its multiple land usages. Maasai with their livestock graze in this protected area. Enroute arrive Lake Manyara continue with a game drive. Your Evening enjoyment with dinner and overnight stay at a booked lodge.
Day 3 full day at Manyara Park
In the morning after breakfast , Driver will drive you to Lake Manyara National Park. The park lies and is bordered between the Rift Valley Escarpment and the dusty Masai Steppe. On the western side are a forest and also the alkaline Manyara Lake which covers the largest area of the park. Upon entering the park your driver will open the vehicle roof and you can then start your wild life watching in earnest.
Day 4 Sunrise game drive and flying back to Dar es salaam
Today will be a last day for a half day safari game drive in Lake Manyara. You will go for a early morning sunrise game drive which is the best for spotting wildcats.
Late morning you will check out the park and drive back to Arusha airport ready to take a flight back to Dar es salaam of which will be your final destination.
Tanzania’s climate is tropical, the temperature ranging between 22 and 30 degrees centigrade. December to March are the hottest months, while June to august is the coolest. Coastal areas are usually hot and humid. There are two rainy seasons: long rains from mid march to June and short rains form November to January.
